Welcome to 4th Grade!!

Welcome, lovely ladies! 

Hi! My name is Miss Lockridge, but I will become Mrs. Burns right before school starts :) I have taught fourth grade at Oakland, but this will be my first year teaching all girls! Teaching is my PASSION, and I am beyond blessed to have my dream job of helping your child grow and learn! I could not be more excited to meet each of the precious girls and for all of the adventures that we will have together in our classroom this year!

A Little About Me: 
  • I grew up in Greenville, SC. 
  • I graduated from Clemson University, and I spend my weekends in the fall going to football games. Go Tigers!!



  • By the time school starts, I will have just gotten married to my wonderful best friend, Jordan! Our wedding day is August 2nd! I'm excited to share some wedding pictures soon!

  • I love spending time with friends and family, especially anything outdoors like hiking or going to the beach! I am an active member at my church, Grace Church, in Greenville.

  • I love cooking and trying new recipes, and I love Italian food. I have even gotten to travel to Italy, yumm! I also love to travel to new places!


  • All through the year but during the summer especially, I love to spend my time reading! My favorite book that I read this summer was Wonder by R.J. Palacio. What was YOUR favorite book that you read this summer?? Share your favorite book by commenting below :)

Supply List: 

Essentials: 
  • Multiple Packs of #2 Pencils
  • Pencil Pouch
  • Several Packs of Notebook Paper (Wide-ruled)
  • 2 colored Pocket Folders (*WITH prongs for the sheet protectors)
  • 3 sheet protectors 
  • 5 *composition* notebooks-NO spiral notebooks, please :) *Composition notebooks have a marble cover, and the pages are sewn together. 
  • One 3-Ring Binder (1 inch or 1 1/2 inches will work.We will be keeping Data Notebooks.)
  • Multiple White Glue Sticks (We will use these daily with notebooking.)
**We will be doing "notebooking" instead of keeping a binder for subjects this year. 

Helpful: 
  • 1 Package of Colored Pencils
  • 1 Package of Washable Markers
  • Scissors
  • 1 Package of Dry Erase Markers
  • 2-3 Highlighters
  • 2 Packs of Sticky Notes

Students-What can I do to get ready for fourth grade??

Label your two pocket folders using the following labels: 
  1. Classwork (Your Name) **Place 1 sheet protector in the prongs of the Classwork folder, and label "Morning Work." 
  2. Homework/Take Home (Your Name) **Place 2 sheet protectors in the prongs of the Homework Folder. Label one "Reading Log," and the second "Weekly Newsletter."
Label your five composition notebooks using the following labels: 
  1. Math Notebook (Your Name)
  2. Reading Notebook (Your Name)
  3. Writing Journal (Your Name)
  4. Social Studies Notebook (Your Name)
  5. Wonder Journal-Science (Your Name) 
Parents-How can you help??

I am sincerely thankful for all of the support and help from you! Here are some ways that you can help our classroom: 

  • I love having parent volunteers in our classroom! I am very grateful for help with having a room mom, making copies, preparing materials, donating supplies, and reading with students. On Meet the Teacher Day, you will have the opportunity to sign up to help in our classroom in whichever way you are able! Every little bit of help goes a long way!
