Week at a Glance-March 7th-11th


Ride the Weekly Wave:
Math-We will continue to practice measurement and conversions this week. We will also be reviewing for MAP testing coming up!

Reading-We will continue to practice close reading skills through nonfiction text and text structures and continue to review for MAP testing coming up!!

ELA/Writing-In Writer’s Workshop, we will begin brainstorming for our PBL culminating assessment by writing a nonfiction text about our favorite environment!

Social Studies- We will continue to learn about political parties and early government leaders. We will introduce Westward Expansion

Science- We will be reviewing what we have learned and start brainstorming about our favorite environment to create our own NF text! We will also be reviewing for our final Animals Unit test!

Anchor Down for Upcoming Tests:

·       STUDY MAP PACKETS EACH NIGHT J
·       Friday- Measurement Vocab #2 Test **Study measurement vocab sheet and note cards
·       Next Thursday- Final Animals Unit TEST in Science
**Note-There are not many tests to focus on extra time to prepare for MAP

Homework for the Week:
(please refer to your child's agenda daily for more details-this is only an OUTLINE of what to expect):

·       **Return graded papers by Tuesday** (Sent home Monday)
·       Make measurement vocab cards Monday (*due Tuesday)
·       Read 2 steps (30 minutes) for 100 BC and sign Reading Log *every* night **SPECIAL NOTE-Review/complete Reading MAP packet 15 minutes every night and sign the MAP log. This counts as one step of 100 BC reading!! The entire packet will count as a test grade. Extra studying will be extra credit J Complete assigned Math MAP packet pages each night!
·       Study every night for tests!

·       Wednesday, March 9th-Walk to School Day @ Recess
·       Greenville Drive Reading Challenge Logs due March 18th
·       MAP Testing begins the week of March 7th **Our class tests Reading on March 17th and Math on March 22nd
·       March 11th is a make up snow day and will be a regular school day
