Ride the
Weekly Wave:
Math-We
will continue practicing our basic single digit multiplication facts as we
introduce multiplication with larger numbers. We will be using different strategies
such as the area model, lattice multiplication, and expanded form. Check out
our blog this week for videos and study tips of multiplication strategies!
Reading-We
have finished our novel, Wonder, and we will be working on plot
diagrams, practicing vocabulary, “tweeting,” and writing about heroes from the
story to practice for the Final Wonder
Test this Friday.
ELA/Writing-In
Writer’s Workshop, we are practicing how to write “Letters to an Editor.” In
Language, we are learning about how to correct fragments and run on sentences.
Social Studies-We will continue learning the original colonies as we look at
early Spanish, French, Dutch, and English settlements, and we will begin
learning about why the 13 colonies are split into 3 regions and what the main
differences are between them through hands-on activities and making pic
collages on the iPads.
Science-We will continue our animals unit by learning about learned vs.
inherited behaviors through videos, real life examples, and animal examples. We
will start learning about how organisms’ behaviors can change in their
environments through hands-on activities!
