Awards Day and End of Year Gifts

These girls sure do have my heart, and I could not be a more proud teacher!!

For their end of the year present, each girl wrote an adjective about their classmates. The  adjectives were used to make a wordle bookmark for them to keep :)

I love my girls!! Happy summer!!

Solar Ovens and S'mores

We built our very own "solar ovens" out of pizza boxes, tin foil, tape, plastic, and black paper. This was a great review of the properties of light-the tin foil reflects the sun and the black paper absorbs the heat!

Then we took our solar ovens outside to make s'mores!! The girls LOVED it and they really worked!

The more chocolate on your face, the better the s'more :)

End of Year Slideshow :)

It is such a bittersweet time as the school year draws to a close, and I have been so BLESSED by each of my precious girls! I only hope that I have made even a fraction of the impact that they have made on me. Parents, thank you so much for all of your support throughout the year! I could not be more proud of my students, and I know that they will do amazing things! They have my heart, and I will miss them so much.

Enjoy a picture slideshow to show highlights from our year together!

Mighty Meteorologist Girls Reporting LIVE

*LIVE RECORDING* in Weather Station 402

This week, the girls became meteorologists for the day! They were given a weather map with various symbols about cold fronts, warm fronts, light snow, chance of thunderstorms, etc. They used their weather map and what we have learned in our weather unit to write their own weather reports using the correct vocabulary. After writing their script, they brainstormed props to bring and practiced, practiced, practiced!

The girls have been excitedly anticipating their big meteorologist debut! With everything from being in a news studio to being in the middle of a thunderstorm with hail, check out out their videos!
