Week of May 11th


Ride the Weekly Wave:
Math-We will be reviewing and practicing area and perimeter as we make blueprints for our dream house and do other area and perimeter activities! We will test this Friday. We will also be introducing a “net towns” project to practice using 3d shapes and geometry!

Reading-To finish our novel study on Shiloh, we will be comparing and contrasting the book to the movie. **See permission note in newsletter sent home! We will also be starting a new novel study on The Tale of Desperaux with mini-lessons focused on characterization. We will apply our learning of characterization as we start BOOK CLUBS back up this week!! 

ELA/Writing-In Language, will be starting Daily Language Review this week and test on Friday.  In Writer’s Workshop, we will be creating activity lap-books about The Tale of Desperaux.

Social Studies-We will begin a research based history detective project called “Genius Hour” this week! Look for an information letter going home on Monday!

Science- We are integrating Science and Writing as we research and create planet feature articles!

Homework for the Week:

 Super Surfer of the Week


Peyton Postol is our star student this week for showing the character traits of PERSEVERANCE and PROBLEM SOLVING in the classroom this week!! Peyton has been working incredibly hard in school work and studying!! She was extra focused and participating in our PASS review! She really took her time and worked her very hardest during PASS testing, and I am so proud of her and all of the girls! Keep up the hard work, Peyton!!
