Too Late to Apologize

When you are studying for your Declaration of Independence test this week, watch this video to review! Watch for key images, people, and phrases from the DOI!

Here are the four parts of the DOI that students need to remember!

1. Preamble-(introduction)
2. Natural Rights
3. Grievances(complaints to the KING)
4.Resolution (conclusion)

Post a comment sharing what you think the song quote below means (whose perspective is it from, how did this idea lead to a rebellion and eventually the American Revolution) for extra credit on your Social Studies test!

"Half way across the globe, and we're standing on new ground..."

  1. Natalie M. These are the colonists that have come to America. They are in a new country and want to do things their way. The British didn't like that and they tried to control the colonists.

The quote means, "the colonists are far away from England and they are on a new land."

The people are the main characters of DOI. Thomas Jefferson, Benjamin Franklin, and John Adams. the King George is in the video. The colonists are complaining about the taxes, one of them is tea tax. They talked about the Inalienable rights that include Life, Liberty, and the pursuit of happiness.

  4. ALLY D. The colonists are half way across the globe from England. They have worked hard to start the new colonies. They are tired of the acts, tax and tyranny of the king. They want the rights of life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness. They feel it is too late to expect the King to allow them these rights. It is time to declare their independence.

  6. Hattie: this quote means that the colonists have broken away from the king and he can't reach them. The perspective is from the colonists' point of view. They want to be independent from Englsnd on their new ground. This leads to rebellion.
