'Twas the Week Before Christmas Break in Room 402


Ride the Weekly Wave:
Math-We will introduce fractions this week! 

Reading-We will continue our unit on POETRY this week as we have mini-lessons analyzing various Christmas poems and songs throughout the week!

ELA/Writing-In Writer’s Workshop, we will be finishing our tall tales, looking at sentence structure, and writing a Santa Clause story!

Social Studies-We will continue learning about six key battles of the American Revolution and incorporate our poetry unit by writing haikus about each battle!

Science- We will continue learn about what causes tides, constellations, and shadows through hands-on activities! We will also get to look through a telescope and have a Christmas lights STEM activity this week.


 
Anchor Down for Upcoming Tests:

·       NO TESTS this week J
·       Please review science notes on shadows for a possible *quiz* 


Homework for the Week:
(please refer to your child's agenda daily for more details-this is only an OUTLINE of what to expect):

·       **Graded papers signed/returned by Tuesday!!**
·       Lunar Log signed every night *due Friday*
·       Finish Tall Tale Monday night if needed
·       Read 2 steps (30 minutes) for 100 BC and sign Reading Log *every* night
