Week at a Glance-September 14th-18th


Ride the Weekly Wave:
Math-We will review and test rounding this week. We will also review strategies for addition as we introduce math stations!

Reading-We will continue reading Wonder as our mentor text for our Choose Kind PBL as we focus on point of view and comprehension.
ELA/Writing-In Writer’s Workshop, we will be having mini-lessons and writing activities on how to write a friendly letter.  

Social Studies- We will be reviewing and practicing good studying techniques with flashcards to prepare for our test on Native Americans this week. We will also introduce our new unit on the explorers!

Science- 3-2-1 BLAST OFF!!!!! We had a “blast” building and launching rockets, but we need to review the variables this week with some fun activities. We will be testing this week.

 Anchor Down for…Upcoming Tests/Projects:

·       Wednesday Math Test on Rounding *Study notes on rounding in math NB
·       Thursday- Test on Native Americans *Study flashcards & notes on 5 regions
·       Friday- Science Test on Science Safety and Simple Investigations *Study notes in science NB
·       No Math 4 Today Test this week!

Homework for the Week:
(please refer to your child's agenda daily for more details-this is only an OUTLINE of what to expect):

·       **Graded papers signed/returned by Tuesday!!**
·       Read 2 steps (30 minutes) for 100 BC and sign Reading Log *every* night
·       Study Multiplication flashcards (8’s facts) 10 minutes *every night* & sign log
·       Math workbook HW on rounding throughout the week
·       **Suggested studying schedule for NA test (Study house pictures & regions map every night! Mon-EWL & Plains cards, Tues-SW, PNW, and GB cards, Wed-ALL 5 regions)**
