Week of November 24th (Thanksgiving)

HAPPY, HAPPY THANKSGIVING!!

Ride the Weekly Wave:

Math-We will FINISH our unit on division this week, as we practice some Thanksgiving-themed division word problems. We will begin fractions when we come back!

Reading-To go along with our PBL, we will be reading and analyzing non-fiction and fiction texts about the 3 R’s (Reduce, Reuse, Recycle), including the Lorax. We will test on PBL vocabulary this week.

ELA/Writing-In Writer’s Workshop, we are practicing how to make sentences more interesting by using commas. We will integrate these lessons with Social Studeis as we continue writing a 5 paragraph essay to King George III about being a Patriot or a Loyalist.

Social Studies-Check out our class blog from the Boston Massacre crime scene last week!! This week, we will continue discussing the causes of the American Revolution as we look at a primary source document about the Boston Tea Party and complete a Boston Tea Party STEM activity!

Science-We will continue our unit on Light through inquiry using prisms and other activities. We are also completing a Thanksgiving-themed STEM activity!
