Weekly Wave:
Math-We will continue
our unit on fractions this week as we practice multiplying fractions by fractions
and using fractions in problem solving!
Reading-We will begin a new unit by learning about finding and proving the
author’s purpose within a text and studying fables! We are looking specifically
at finding morals and proverbs within a fable, such as, “A friend in need is a
friend in deed!”
ELA/Writing-In Writer’s
Workshop, we will be looking at “on-demand” writing through different
strategies to best prepare for the upcoming ACT Inspire Writing Test. We will
also practice using verb tenses and review tricky homophones.
Social Studies-We are continuing our unit on government this week as we learn in
detail about the 3 branches of government (Legislative, Executive, and
Judicial). We are also practicing and memorizing the Preamble to the
Constitution! Practice at home every night!!
Science- 3-2-1…BLAST OFF! We are continuing our Astronomy unit as we wonder
and learn about what causes moon phases?? We will have Astronomy test #1 this
week.
