Ride the
Weekly Wave:
Math-We will continue
our unit on fractions this week as we practice adding and subtracting mixed
numbers (with regrouping and simplifying). We will also be working on problem
solving with fractions, retest from last week, and begin multiplying fractions!
Reading-We will FINISH our POETRY unit as we focus on writing collecting
poetry genre examples and original works for our Poetry Portfolios. Our Poetry Café is this week!!!
ELA/Writing-In Writer’s
Workshop, we will be looking at “on-demand” writing through different
strategies to best prepare for the upcoming ACT Inspire Writing Test. We will
also look at using homophones.
Social Studies-We are beginning our new unit on government this week as we
compare the Articles of Confederation to the Constitution through some hands-on
activities!
Science- 3-2-1…BLAST OFF! We are “blasting off” our new Science unit on
Astronomy this week through some exciting activities like making the solar
system out of cereal and toilet paper!
